Polystrene rigid insulations is generally cheaper than other rigid insulation boards with lower thermal values than like for like thickness of PIR or phenolic foam insulation.
EPS is a 'close celled structure' while XPS is 'close celled insulation' due to the way in which the two types of polystyene is manufactured.

Kay-Metzeler EPS70, an expanded polystyrene rigid insulation board, is suitable for the following applications: ground supporting and suspended concrete floors.
Available in thicknesses from 25mm - 100mm.
Has a Thermal Conductivity of 0.038 W/mK, a compressive strength of 70kPa and a Vapour Resistance that typically exceeds 100 MNs/gm.

Warmline EPS Laminate, a rigid EPS polystyrene insulation board with a 9.5mm tapered edge plasterboard on the front face, is suitable for the following applications: dot and dab or mechanically fixed dry lining direct to masonry and timber or steel frame walls and the underside of rafters or joists and window reveals.
Available in thicknesses from 22mm - 50mm.
